Planned Features
Im still waiting for my website (my friends making it for me). I will be posting all the detailed information about the game there once its up. For now you can take a look at the old version (Its a good preview of some (!) features the new version will have.) or check the current alpha of new version. Theyre both here.
Here is a list of features Im planning to include in the finished game:
- Skirmish, Multiplayer and Story Mode.
- Being a turn-based game played in window, "Blue Sun" can be played while doing something in the meantime as you wait for your opponents turn.
- 3 races with completely unique individual playing style.
- Many tactical possibilities allowing for practical use of traps, ambushes, sabotage, predicting your enemy moves etc. The game wont be just about your fleet size.
- Many diverse and usefull special abilities for units.
- Units gaining expirience and level up
Trained units will be able to take on even a few enemies at once.
- Fleet commanders
You will be able to have 1 fleet commander. It is a special unit with unique and powefull special abilities.
- Realistic mode (can be disabled)
Players will have to take care of many things themselves.
Your resources wont teleport magically to factories - you need to transport them (what allows your enemies to attack/capture your convoys).
Your units wont get upgrades out of nowhere after research - you must modernize them.
- Random events during matches (can be disabled)
Random events can happen during the game,
e.g. ships calling for rescure, neutral resource convoys, pirate attacks, appearing of hostile space creatures, dimensional distortions etc.
These events will make the gameplay much more interesting and unpredictable.
- Stealing technologies
If you manage to capture enemy unit, and you can make with it to your research station, you will be able to learn how to reproduce it.
You will receive a set of researches and upgrades for captured enemy units.
Some unit designs when stolen, will unlock new possibilities for your own units.
- Alternative researches
Some researches will exclude each other. You will have to choose e.g. which ability you wish to equip your units with.
This will give additional strategical complexity as you will need to plan your research to counter your enemies.
- Deep intriguing story
Story Mode is simply a campaign, however it will tell a deep anime-style story with intriguing main plot, side stories, many colorfull characters, mysteries and a touching ending.
- Story interaction
While playing story mode player will be faced with tough situations.
He will then be asked to make a decision that will influence his mission.
These decisions, however wont be simple "go left or go right?". Questions asked will be of nature e.g. "Kill your enemy or save the civilians?".
- Story Modes development continuity
Units, resources and researches will move on from one story mode mission to another.
- Extermal map files and map editor.
